After working in marketing and PR in the tourism industry and for several years as an independent insurance consultant, Sandro Rüegger joined the media business in 1998, working in various management functions at well-known media companies, including Jean Frey AG (now known as Axel Springer  Schweiz AG) and Tamedia AG.

In addition to various team-related restructuring duties, he also established business units, led group-wide key account units and worked in training functions. As a member of management at Jean Frey AG, he was involved in a very successful group turnaround effort.

As CEO of Weltwoche Verlags AG for three and half years, he led the most important Swiss political magazine. Sandro Rüegger was a member of various specialist committees of the Verband Schweizer Medien (Association of Swiss Media) and a longtime expert for Swiss federal marketing and communications exams.

In 2013, he switched to a  career in executive search, focusing his activities on, among other things, the areas of media/communication, leisure and tourism, retail and service companies.
